The national round of the competition will take place on 12 September 2023 at 5 PM at the National Library of Technology in Prague (in cooperation with the German Embassy in Prague and German Academic Exchange Service - DAAD).

Shortlisting of candidates

Only shortlisted candidates will be invited to take part at the Falling Walls Czech Republic event in September. The organizers will inform all candidates about the result by 7 August via email.
12 September

The Falling Walls Czech Republic event

The national round of the competition will be held in Prague at the National Library of Technology at 5 PM
7 November

The Global Finale in Berlin

The winners of local Labs travel to the Global Finale in Berlin. All finalists can also attend the prestigious Falling Walls Conference, which takes place on 7 - 9 November.
About

Falling Walls Czech Republic Event

The national round of the competition will take place on 12 September 2023 at the National Library of Technology in Prague (in cooperation with the German Embassy in Prague and German Academic Exchange Service).

Finalists will present their projects or ideas in front of an audience and respected jury at the Gallery NTK. After the last one is done with presenting, the jury will choose one winner, who will represent the Czech Republic at the Global Finale in Germany in November.

The whole event will be moderated by Štěpán Vizi.

Winner of the competition recieves

  • A trip to Berlin (including travel expenses and accommodation) with scientific excursions and inspirational encounters
  • Participation in the Falling Walls Lab Global Finale in Berlin on 7 November 2023
  • A ticket to the prestigious Falling Walls Conference on 7 - 9 November 2023. Global leaders from the field of science, industry and politics can be met there
  • Prize money

The organisers are independent partners of the Falling Walls Foundation. The Czech organizer reserves the right to invite only selected candidates to the Czech National Falling Walls Lab 2023. The selection process will be based on criteria set by Falling Walls Foundation Berlin.

The National Library of Technology (NTK) is the largest and oldest library of science and technology literature in the Czech Republic, with a collection of over 1.5 million volumes.
